Victoria Harbour is the central feature of Docklands and was once a bustling hub of wharf activity.
Story Curation
The focus of the story telling was on the loading and unloading of cargo at Victoria Harbour and associated existing infrastructure. This included building a picture of what the area used to look like, the sheds, berths, cranes, trucks, factories and buildings. And the connection between sea distribution and the growth of the railway.
We met wharfies and chatted about their jobs, the challenges, the highlights, the funny moments. We collected anecdotes, amazing images never before circulated including some stunning aerial images, and maps of the changing docks.
Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung
Included in the app there will be Indigenous trails from the two groups that have connections to the place. These are still in the making.
